I just watched this intense film on @DocHeaven and it is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. Although I think Motorcycles are a bit Dangerous I’ve always wanted to have one. Unfortunately or fortunately my wife has always denied my request.
The Film is about a one of a kind Race in the streets of the Isle of Man, once considered the most prestigious races in the world. The Race is composed of all kinds of racers, from amateurs to sponsored Professionals. A quote in the film by one of the racers is that, “it feels like we should all be thrown in jail”. It’s crazy to see them racing in the streets in excess of 100 MPH with out run-off areas. There isn’t much safety and there have been over 100 deaths in the race’s history.
I really enjoyed this film and it didn’t have any gory parts, although they did show a couple of bad crashes. If you are a thrill seeker or just want to see some crazy guys have fun, check this film out!!
Voting is not about being a Republican or Democrat, Black or White, or voting for who your Daddy votes for. It’s about electing the candidate that supports the issues, topics & morals that you believe in. A President that will Unify our Country and make us Stonger.
Get out & Vote!!! #Latism
Morgan Spurlock does it again, this Documentary is Awesome!!! If You’ve ever wanted to see what a sports agent really does, check out this film. You definitely get to feel the excitement and the disappointments that these guys go through. My favorite part of this film is when you get to watch a Draft with an Agent, it gets intense! I also like that the film covers the high roller agents and the new up and comers. It gives two very different perspectives. I had a lot of fun watching this Doc. I hope you like it too
I’ve been anxiously waiting to see this film & I was not let down. It has several great stories within the big picture. It really reinforces many of my own personal beliefs about life and success. I really enjoyed learning about the
different cultures and their perception of happiness. It made me feel great and made me think of whats really important. There’s a great Ben Franklin Quote at the beginning that does a great job of summing up the film. Paraphrasing another quote from the film that i really like say’s that “we need to stop looking at whats above us and instead look at what’s right in front of us.” I’m going to make it a point to stay Happy all the time!
If you’ve ever been to a Mexican Circus, this will bring back some great memories. If you haven’t, this film will bring you to the front row. The story will help you understand the sacrifices and hard work it takes to run a small family circus. Circo will take you on an emotional ride, i highly recommend it for any age group. My 8 year old loved it!
I’d seen this film advertised on Netflix and ITunes all of the time but for some reason I’d always bypassed it. I’m sure glad I finally gave it a chance. This Doc is Awesome, whether you like Racing or not. Since I didn’t know the story I was so excited and tense the whole way through. A true Talent and probably the greatest Formula 1 Driver ever. If the Politics weren’t so corrupt back then he would undoubtedly be the best ever to date. It’s crazy what a sports figure can do for a country, I never realized he was such an amazing star. I don’t want to ruin this one for you so you better watch it. I’m definitely a new Senna Fan!!
A great story about a Trio (actually they’re only two) of musicians from Mexico trying to make money for their families back home. They walk the streets of California and play anywhere they can. The few dollars they make are enough to provide a decent life for their families. But the sacrifice of being so far away is painful. This is the story of many people that are in this country trying to provide for their families back home. Check it out on Netflix!
Okay, so a friend of mine posts something about a diet that he’s been on for 26 days. He say’s how brutal it’s been but then posts a before and after head-shot of himself. I must admit, it’s pretty amazing. So now I’m intrigued and I ask him what it’s all about. He say’s, “watch this movie, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead”. That’s all he said and because you don’t have to tell me twice to watch a Documentary, I pulled it up on Netflix and began watching . Within the first 10 minutes, I was already hooked. I’d heard about people Juicing, I thought they were on Steroids or something, but after this now I know what Juicing is all about. Before the movie ended I was on Craigslist looking for a Juicer. I told my wife that I was going to start Juicing and she said that I, “need to be Realistic”, another doubter. So the next day i made her and my babysitter watch the movie. Sure enough as soon as it was over they were like me, ready to get started. I plan on buying a Juicer this weekend and I’ve already found some Farmers Markets that I’m going to hit up. I need to do this! Watch the film, maybe you can join us!
It’s funny, growing up in West Texas I grew up hearing so many derogatory remarks towards Mexicans. Many of them didn’t even make sense. Why would people make fun of what we eat? Why would it even bother me. I should have just embraced it! Yeah, I’m a beaner, i love the sh!t out of some beans! I also like Enchiladas and Tacos, someone give me some tamales, barbacoa or even some mole!! What’s up!
The more I thought about it, the clearer it became. You’ve heard the saying, “you are what you eat”, right? Well I found a good example of it. I came to the conclusion that Mexicans are like Jalapeños!!
Okay, let me explain. First of all a Jalapeño, like a Mexican, can be super spicy or NOT, big or little, dark or light, round or long, and that’s just the outside. BTW I am Super Spicy, Big, Dark and Round :) Ok enough with the appearance, now, the thing that makes a Mexican more like a Jalapeño is it’s versatility! A Jalapeno can be eaten plain, grilled, fried, boiled, baked, or even powdered. It can be at a taquito stand on any corner in Mexico or a fancy restaurant in Beverly Hills, just like a Mexican! A Mexican can mix with any race in almost any situation. We can be “hard” like a San Antonio Spurs Fan. We can hang with our buddies that dip and watch Nascar (go Junior!) We can hang with Professional folks and talk about Geeky devices, & also hang with the Raza and throw some tripas on the Disco. We can even go to a Juanes Concert with all of the Fresas or sit in a billingual book club at home (go Rubi) drinking a glass of wine.
Last but not Least there is a abundance of Jalapeños in Mexico and the US, just like the Mexicans!!!
To all of you Tebow Lovers, listen up. First of all let’s get something clear we don’t hate Tebow because he Loves Jesus. We Love Jesus too!! Well… Most of us do anyway. We hate Tebow because there are so many other athletes that love Jesus too. Athletes that actually have professional God given talents. They pray and thank the Lord before, during and after every game, just like him. BUT they don’t ever get any publicity for it, nor do they expect or want it. They don’t use it like a marketing tool either. They do it because thats what Christians do. The media has made this guy look like he’s the only athlete in the country that Loves Jesus and he is eating it up. Why not, i don’t blame him for it but it’s still freaking annoying. It’s like the guy in your office that kisses ass all day long, he does what everyone else does but he lets the boss know he did it and he gets recognized for it. You know who it is and if you don’t it’s probably you. Anyway don’t hate us because we can see through the BS & enough with the, “check your Christianity if you dislike Tebow” Crap. Don’t assume that we don’t Love Jesus because we dislike a mediocre Quarterback… Okay a crappy QB. Btw did you know that Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao prays in the ring during practice and the Gym stops out of respect until he finishes? Did you know that he also gets on his knees in the rings of Multi Million Dollar Prize Fights before and after the bell rings in front of Millions of people and prays to the same God Tebow prays to? He also does the sign of the cross about 100 times during a fight. Oh by the way he’s a good samaritan and a World Champion too.
Honestly, I really don’t care what you or anyone thinks about this. You have your own page to write what you wish. This is simply my opinion and my freedom to vent. Please don’t try to “educate” me or engage me in a debate because I’m not interested. If you must know, of course I don’t think that helping the poor is a bad thing. When a person starts to Generalize and Stereotype a group of people, now that’s wrong. To say that the really poor children “have no habits of working and have nobody around them who works.” “have no habit of showing up on Monday; they have no habit of staying all day; they have no habit of ‘I do this and you give me cash’ — unless it’s illegal.” is wrong. According to these comments Really poor children don’t have role models because all poor people are Lazy, Stupid Criminals. I find that offensive because I’ve been “poor” although I didn’t even realize it until i grew up. The reason I didn’t realize it is because my parents worked hard to make sure that we had everything we needed. My wife has a similar story and thousands of families across the country have the same types of stories. There are poor parents and single moms that work their hearts out to make sure that their kids never have to go through what they’ve gone through. These people are not Lazy, stupid, criminals, they are Heroes. How is it a Racial thing, well we all know Newt’s stand on the Spanish Language and Bilingual education. Newt said that “Spanish is the Language of the Ghetto” (where most Really Poor people live). So basically speaking Spanish is symbolic of a person who is lazy, illiterate and without class. (STUPID) When he says Really Poor People we know who he’s talking about. It’s not hard to figure out. If you really want to help poor children start at school. Teach our children how to strive for greatness and give them the tools to be successful. BTW, Learning multiple languages is a huge benefit in every other country except the US. Let’s take a step forward.
Okay, i was listening to the Radio the other day and a commercial caught my attention. They were talking about a “one of a kind gift, best gift ever…” so i was intrigued and instead of switching the channel between songs as I usually do, (yes, no XM, I’m Cheap) i listened for a few more seconds. What i heard next was the biggest pile of BS I’ve ever heard. I’d heard it before but I guess it never really processed. The “Gift” they were talking about was a star, not on Hollywood Blvd or an ornament for a tree. They were talking about a ball composed of mostly Hydrogen and Helium Gas, yes, that kind of star. My initial thought was, “WTF are they talking about, how can somebody sell a star?” My second thought was, “how the F would somebody buy this BS?” This is something you can’t ever touch, feel or even smell. You can occasionally see it when it’s visible though a webcam. Sounds like one of those porn sites without the porn.
Anyway, I had to find out for myself, so I looked up the website that was advertised. I found out that not only could you buy a star but you could also name the damn thing too. You get this nice personalized gift certificate and a congratulatory letter that’s elegantly gift wrapped, and here is the best part, it used to be $79.99 but right now you could buy it for only $48.95 with Free Shipping. Are you serious?? Imagine if at Christmas you said, “hey baby, i got you something that’s better and brighter than diamonds”, and you pulled out an envelope with a certificate saying, “congratulations! you’re the proud owner of a Star named Firefly”. Do you really think your wife would be happy? HELL NO, you’d probably get an Ass Whooping. I know I’d be pissed if someone came at me with that BS. I guess there’s always a sucker. Who authorized these clowns to sell Stars anyway, GOD?
Futbol is truly a universal language, this film makes me want to start playing! If I wasn’t 35 and overweight, i might! This documentary is about teams that are formed from all over the world to come together and play in the Homeless World Cup in South Africa. Every player that is on each team is homeless for many different reasons. The filmmakers bring you into their lives and helps you understand how someone can get to that point. It’s amazing to see the power of a ball. This is a very entertaining film and I highly recommend it!
OMG, this morning I was just sitting down for breakfast at my Moms house. The wonderful aroma of a home cooked meal that carried out to the street was to die for!! In front of me was an extra large bowl of steaming Pozole! I proceeded to add a nice helping of finely cut Cabbage onto my bowl. By this time my mouth is watering, i can’t wait! My mom brings some freshly fried tostadas to the table and sets them right next to the delicious salsa that she makes. I get up to get some salt and limes for my tostaditas to accompany my Pozole! Now my brother and his family walk in, i hadn’t seen them in months so i’m excited to see them. This just makes this moment that much more special to me. So i sit down, i look at my plate and the table, and with a big smile a take my spoon and…. Just as i’m about to dig in, it happens. My damn Alarm Goes off :( i tried to go back to sleep but it was too late. Now i can’t wait to go visit my parents house and make this dream come true!!
Holy Cow! (no pun intended) One of India’s Greatest Athlete’s? I don’t know if we’ll ever know the answer to that question. This film is fantastic!! I was hooked from the start. It’s unbelievable what this little boy accomplished. His talent was definitely a gift from God. The toughness and the fight this kid has is a reflection of where he grew up. One of the greats!!
One of my Favorite Documentaries!!! I watched this a couple of years ago and was glued to the TV!!! I always wondered what teenagers do in middle eastern countries. All we see is the destruction and hate on the news, I knew it couldn’t all be bad. This film takes you through the lives of some normal teenagers in Baghdad. You come to realize that they are not much different than us. I didn’t want this film to end!!
One of those films that makes you feel like standing up and doing something. There are so many things that are beyond our reach. We know it, we understand it and we live with it. “You can accomplish anything you set your mind to”, is not necessarily the case for everyone. This story is about migrant children trying to make it to America by way of the Mexican Train System. You get to see the illusions and excitement that the children have when they initiate their journeys. They eventually face reality. The stories will definitely Capture you. This is an @hbodocs documentary
Just watched this Documentary on @HBODocs and it was very inspiring. It’s an interesting look at very successful Latinos in America. They share their stories and experiences through their rise to glory. Some of the stories leave you with tears in your eyes and others make you laugh your socks off. It’s a short film at 56 min. and a Must See in my book!
I saw this Doc a couple of weeks ago and loved it! You don’t have to be a Soccer fan to appreciate this film. A couple who is absolutely in love with the sport of Soccer travel to 25 very different countries and play Soccer pickup games!! Some of the games are in very scary settings but the sport brings all of the different people together. It’s one of those feel good films! I Highly recommend it!!
